Wasp Nest

This was a Wasp nest found in a Massey back yard in 2005. It was (12m) up this pine tree and the nest was 12ft (3.6m) long and 8ft (2.4m) round. It had got so big a part of it had collapsed to the ground, this piece was 15ft by 15ft (4.5x4.5m) Being so close to homes it was a serious danger to nearby residents and animals. Deciding how to treat the nest and keeping the residence safe was my priority. To help stop the wasps from flying to nearby houses, this job would be treated at dusk when wasps would be home. We asked the local Hobsonville Fire Department to lend a hand. The fire department added a little bit of insecticide into their foam and using their powerful hose they foamed the nest until it was saturated. This stopped any wasp from escaping the nest. The nest got so heavy a big part of it broke off and fell to the ground. This job was a huge success with the help of our local Hobsonville Fire Department, This job was one in a lifetime and we were so proud that no one or animal was stung while the nest was being treated.
